iTus is a navigation app for truck drivers. It needs to know where you are to route you and to warn you about what's ahead. This page explains exactly what that means: what's collected, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. In plain terms, and no broader than the truth.
What iTus collects
Your location
Precise location, only while you're using the app. It's used to route you, show stops and scales near you, warn you about reports ahead, and place a report where you actually are when you submit one. iTus does not request background location and does not track you when the app is closed.
Your live position is used on your device and sent to our routing provider to calculate routes and find places nearby. It is not stored as a location history — we do not keep a record of where you have driven.
Your email address
Used to create your account and sign you in. That's it. No marketing without asking.
Reports you submit
When you report parking, a hazard, a scale, a low bridge, an entrance note or anything else, iTus stores what you reported, any note you wrote, the coordinates it happened at, and the time — linked to your account.
Reports are shown to other drivers. That's the point of them. Other drivers see the report, the note, its location, its confidence and whether it's been confirmed. They do not see your email address or your name. Your reporting history is linked to your account internally, because a driver's track record is what weights their reports.
What iTus does not do
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers.
- No ads.
- No selling or renting your data. Ever.
- No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking SDKs.
- No location history, and no background location.
Who else touches your data
iTus is a small app standing on a few services. Each one only gets what it needs:
- HERE (routing and place search) — receives coordinates and your truck's dimensions in order to calculate a truck-legal route and find places near you. It does not receive your email or your account.
- Supabase (database, authentication, hosting) — stores your account, your saved places, your trips and your reports.
- OpenStreetMap / CARTO (map imagery) — serves the map tiles the app draws.
- Apple — distributes the app and handles any purchase. Apple's own privacy terms apply to that.
How long it's kept
- Reports expire on their own, on a clock that depends on what they are: a police sighting lasts hours, a hazard about six, a construction note a few days, an entrance note six months, a low-clearance warning a year. Expired reports stop being shown to drivers.
- Your account data — email, saved places, trips, truck profile — is kept until you delete your account.
Deleting your data
Email support@itusapp.com from your account's email address and ask. Your account, saved places, trips and truck profile will be deleted.
One honest caveat: reports you submitted may stay visible to other drivers, detached from your account. A low bridge doesn't stop existing because you left, and other drivers are relying on it. If you want a specific report taken down, say which one and it will be removed.
Children
iTus is built for working commercial drivers and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what's collected or who sees it, the app will say so rather than quietly updating this page.
